Oak Tree Island, here we come!
Cottage life at our summer vacation home on a tiny island in Manitoba Canada. This is about some of our activities,~ fun, food, boating, family, nature, photography, quotes, decorating and repairs.

The changes start by mid August. I love watching the colours and flowers change with the seasons.
It starts with little details, the occasional new berry or bright coloured leaves. The weather gets hot and the forest and gardens struggle in the heat and sometimes lack of water. By August the days and nights are cooler and we can feel the days growing a bit shorter. The container plants near our building reach their full glory and we love seeing them too.
Merlin tried his hand at baking at the cottage.
We had a lot of fun with it and Merlin was very patient with his assistant chefs and videographers. After all, treat were involved,
Dusk to dark is a magical time. You can feel the temperature drop and the winds change. The bird calls change from the chipper little song birds to mournful loon calls. Insects buzz becomes louder and there is a perfume that comes off the flowers in the dusk air.
We decided to try and get some good lake pics of Merlin. Puppy energy, uneven terrain, and tired photographers made for some challenges. Merlin was confused but very happy with treat bribes.
